Our Generous Community
Impact Eurobodalla is privileged to enjoy incredible support from our very generous community.
With the very generous and kind support of local businesses and organisations, as
MWACS Inc, we upgraded the facilities of the Moruya women’s refuge house.
In 2010, Bunnings kindly donated paint from Dulux and staff time to paint the lower
ground hallways and staircase of the refuge house.
Cash donations from various organisations such as Quota International of Narooma,
Narooma Uniting Church, Bridge @ the Bay, CWA Batemans Bay, Moruya District Hospital
Auxiliary and South Coast Pastel Society enabled us to slowly refresh and upgrade
refuge bedrooms and communal areas, and restock manchester supplies.
Members of the South Coast Pastel Society donated artworks that adorn the newly
painted walls. And other organisations such as Helping Hands, the Batemans Bay
Patchwork & Quilting Guild, Narooma Branch CWA and Tuross Head Ladies Stitch
Group have donated hand-made knitted and quilted items, and
toiletries.
Members of organisations such as the Clyde River Day View Club, Narooma Uniting
Care Drop-in Centre regularly donated an array of previously loved items for our
women and children.
We were also the lucky recipients of fresh organic fruit and vegetables delivered
weekly by members of the SAGE community garden enterprise in Moruya. They
generously established three garden beds dedicated to growing and harvesting
produce for refuge clients. This initiative was particularly prized as it
ensured that the vulnerable families in our community had access to fresh food
which is essential to improving their overall health and general sense of well-
being. Members of our team were able to use this produce to run regular
communal cooking sessions with clients aimed at providing information on nutrition
and health complemented by practical cooking demonstrations.
Palarang Organic Meats of Bombala generously donated a range of quality meats for
use by our resident women and children.
We continue to feel fortunate and very grateful for our generous community support.
